SER Youth Conservation Corps

What is Youth Conservation Corps?

The mission of SER Youth Conservation Corps is to engage young adults in locally-based service projects that address recreation, conservation, disaster response, and community needs while fostering teamwork, self-esteem, social responsibility and respect for the environment.

Corps members receive educational programming, mentoring, and access to career and personal counseling. We are also here to help you complete your high school diploma or GED.

Program Details

  • Detroiters 18-24 (16 & 17 year-old’s may apply!)
  • 8-week summer opportunity
  • Year round service opportunities

Program Benefits

  • Increased employability through exposure to outdoor careers at local, state, and national parks throughout the state
  • Priority hiring for careers in outdoor government jobs for example, public land corps, DNR, and the forest service
  • Development of skills needed to enroll into credit-bearing college level courses or apprenticeship programs
