SER Learning Academy
In partnership with Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), SER YouthBuild Learning Academy (SYLA) East & Southwest offers a chance for learners to gain the knowledge, skills, and self-discipline needed to succeed in the world.
SYLA is an alternative high school for youth aged 16-21, tailored to their academic needs. The program offers classroom instruction by certified teachers and the chance to learn a trade while in school. Participants complete assignments from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, using credit recovery software. Upon completing the required 19 credits, they receive a Detroit Public School Diploma and can participate in DPSCD’s formal Graduation Ceremony in June.
