In September 2016, SER Metro’s Adult Education programs at the FREC celebrated the accomplishments of 15 graduating students! A graduation luncheon was hosted at the FREC by SER Metro.
Two students who were enrolled in the computer class and also the English class graduated and thirteen students graduated from the Spanish class. The progress of each student was on display for the luncheon program. One of the English class students entered the class unable to ask “How are you?” in English, but at luncheon was able to give a wonderful speech thanking the instructor, Cristina Hancock for all of her commitment to the students’ learning. Each student in the Spanish class composed and read a speech about themselves at the graduation as well. Each graduating student was presented with a gift bag from SER Metro and the Ford Fund to acknowledge their achievement.
