SER Learning Academy

Free High School Diploma – Any city

In partnership with Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), SER YouthBuild Learning Academy (SYLA) East & Southwest provide learners with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and self-discipline necessary to become successful citizens in a global society.

SYLA is an alternative high school for youth ages 16-21 years old tailored to the academic needs of each student and open to residents of any city. Its model combines classroom instruction by a certified teacher and enables students to learn a trade while in school. Students complete assignments using credit recovery software from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday-Friday. Detroit Public School Diplomas are granted once a student completes their 19 required credits and Graduates participate in DPSCD’s formal Graduation Ceremony in June.
