Holiday Fest for SER Families

This year, Center for Working Families (CWF) hosted their first Holiday Fest for SER families.

SER Metro-Detroit, Jobs for Progress Inc., together with Toys for Tots, and SER Board of Directors and staff, showed true holiday spirit by helping families in need during their annual holiday effort. 133 children received toys, gift cards, clothing, and/or food baskets. In all, 62 families received assistance for the holiday. SER Metro-Detroit has always made it a point to identify families in need and assist as much as possible. In the past, families have been adopted by staff, but last year, a relationship was formed with the United States Marines program Tots for Tots, and Citizens Bank which allowed us to expand our outreach to youth and families of the Southwest Detroit community. All recipients of these gifts are present participants with SER Metro.

In addition to the families who received these gifts, SER Metro staff members also felt blessed by this holiday effort. “It brings tears to my eyes to know that we are in a position to give families gifts for their children“, stated Lucia Seed, Center for Working Families Coordinator, who oversees the Toys for Tots at SER.

A special thanks to Toys for Tots, Citizens Bank  and SER Board of Directors.
