In April 2015, Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation awarded SERCO, Inc. the One Stop Case Management & Related Services contract for $4.2 million dollars to provide case management and related services for the Detroit One Stop Career Centers. Since assuming operations on May 1, 2015, the SERCO One Stop management team and staff have successfully implemented DESC’s new program design which aligns closely with SERCO’s vision to provide workforce services that are customer focused and provide each customer with an array of case management services and support that help to prepare them for employment in today’s highly competitive labor market.
In August 2014, the U.S. Department of Labor awarded the Workforce Development Agency a demonstration grant to provide workforce services to Returning Citizens. Known as the Re-Entry Demonstration Grant, services are designed to address the significant challenges to employment that are experienced by Returning Citizens. Detainees at the Detroit Ryan Re-Entry Center will have access to a full array One Stop Services that assist them to access the job readiness case management, vocational and credentialing, job placement and supportive services necessary for a successful transition back to their communities, families, and the workforce. Program participants have immediate access to continued One Stop service upon release. DESC opened One Stops in the Ryan Re-Entry Center in Detroit on November 4, 2015, and Macomb Correctional Facility on January 4, 2016.
Approximately 10,000 Detroit job seekers access services each month at our three full-service One Stops located at:

- 9301 Michigan Avenue (SER Metro-Detroit)
- 5555 Conner (Samaritan Center)
