CWF Graduates its First Bridge Cohort

SER Metro-Detroit Center for Working Families (CWF) Bridges to Career Opportunities program is designed for individuals interested in a career in the skill trades. On June 3, 2016 a ceremony was held to celebrate the successful completion of cohort 1.  Five trainees successfully completed an intensive eight week long program, not only were they determined, but are now job or apprenticeship ready candidates who have obtained their OSHA 10, are NCRC Certified and are registered in M.U.S.T.  Each trainee received personalized financial coaching met with an employment coach to develop their individual development plan, and had access to barrier removal by meeting with the  income support specialist.  “We are very proud of our small mighty group of five, who without question showed up every day for eight weeks to prepare for a career in the skill trades, we are excited for their success” says Lucia Seed, CWF Services Coordinator.
