Access For All

Access for All (AFA) is funded by the Detroit Regional Workforce Fund and administered by the lead agency, Michigan HRDI, and is a nine-week apprenticeship readiness training program that provides graduates with the skills needed to enter apprenticeships in the construction and building trades.   AFA was developed through the collaborative efforts of labor, contractor, community-based and workforce development partners.  SER is the lead community-based organization and is responsible for the outreach, recruitment, intake, assessment, case management and works with labor partners to place and retain graduates in apprenticeships with the Operating Engineers, Carpenters, Electricians, Laborers, Cement Masons, Ironworkers, Bricklayers, and Pipefitters.
